Rebuilding Together Seattle is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that ensures housing stability for low-income homeowners by providing home safety and accessibility improvements free of charge. Since its inception, Rebuilding Together Seattle has restored over 1,700 homes and nonprofit facilities.
Beginning in 1973, Rebuilding Together was first called Christmas in April, when volunteers in Midland, Texas devoted one day each year to repairing homes in their community. There are over 150 Rebuilding Together affiliates across the country.
Rebuilding Together came to Seattle with the support of the JLS in 1989. The JLS continues a proud partnership with Rebuilding Together Seattle through its Done in a Day committee. One day each spring, JLS volunteers work hand-in-hand with Rebuilding Together volunteers to restore homes for Seattle-area owners that are elderly, disabled, families with children, or veterans in need.
