Since its inception in 1924, members of the Junior League of Seattle have worked to improve our community through our mission-driven projects and our hands-on work with our many Community Partners. Each year, JLS members contribute over 45,000 hours of service to our community, and over 100 of our members receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, donating 100+ hours each year to volunteer service. The Junior League of Seattle also received the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award in 2016.
Currently, the Junior League of Seattle has three focus areas:
- Food Security for Families
- Literacy for Youth
- Career Skills for Women
In addition to our focus areas, the JLS also provides volunteers for short-term projects through Done in a Day and provides art education to over 19,000 King County students each year through Northwest Art Project.
