Welcome to the Junior League of Seattle!
The Junior League of Seattle is an organization of women committed to the mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our 1,300 members make a big impact on the Seattle community every year through over 6,000 volunteer hours contributed to community service and leadership development.
In the 95 years since its founding, the Junior League of Seattle has been involved in key initiatives and community efforts that have improved the well-being of women, children, and families in the Seattle community. This rich history has provided us with the building blocks necessary for our current and future endeavors. That is why our theme for 2019-2020 is “WE ARE Junior League of Seattle.” This theme is about putting the history and contributions of the JLS in the forefront of our external communications as well as motivating our members to remember the power that an organization of trained women volunteers can have in our community.
What has made the Junior League of Seattle unique in its impact throughout the years is the effectiveness of its trained volunteers. Our training courses ensure that our members are ready to face the challenges of our community, both today and in the future.
I encourage you to join us as a member, donor, community partner, or supporter as we continue our work to improve the lives of women and children in Seattle. Be sure to follow us on social media and through #whyijlseattle to see who WE ARE in 2019-2020!
