The Junior League of Seattle has a place for all women who want to make an impact in improving the lives of families and children in our community.We are women who join with other caring and motivated women committed toleadership through community service.

Here are a sampling of our fall workshops to develop your leadership potential and personal development....

• "Learn how to "Make the Ask": Fundraising and Procurement - Successful fundraising and procurement is an art form and there are certain techniques which will make this skill easy!  This training will provide our JL members with the necessary skills to be successful in all their future fundraising and procurement efforts - both within the League and in the community.
• "Sound like a Leader" - This highly interactive workshop will enhance leadership qualities and improve speaking skills. Every woman has natural leadership abilities, and this training will help our JL members tap into their inner leader.  
• "Personal Finance in a Recession Economy" - This training will teach our JL members how to be financially savvy in a recession and beyond.
• "How to Run an Effective Meeting" -   Whether you are at work, on a board, or leading a JL committee, this training will give our members the skills necessary to run the most efficient and effective meeting. 
• "Women with Impact" - This popular training features inspiring presentations and conversations about leadership in the community and the Junior League of Seattle.  Learn more about the role you could play in contributing to the future of the JLS and the community at large.  

Getting involved in the community....

• Hurricane Katrina - Collaborate with Junior Leagues on the Gulf Coast to collect and provide school supplies for children whose lives have been decimated by Hurricane Katrina.
• Life Books - Investigate the files of a foster child and create a Life Book to celebrate and document the child's life in a positive and hopeful light, as the child joins a new adoptive family.
• Life Skills - Work with teenaged foster care girls in a series of programs designed to build self-esteem, develop mentoring relations and lift the spirits of the teens.
• Northwest Art - Expand the horizons of school children in the Puget Sound by exposing them to original art by established and renowned artists from the area.

• Macy's Fashion Show - Luxuriate, drink champagne and savor scrumptious hors devours at an incredible runway show with fabulous Macy's shopping after.
• A Night Out at the Symphony - A wonderful cocktail party, followed by a beautiful night with the Northwest Symphony at Benaroya Hall.
• Neighborhood Socials - Join JLS members in your neighborhood for drinks and dinner to unwind and get to know each other.
• Nordstrom Shopping Event - Get a jump on your holiday shopping when Nordstrom closes its downtown store exclusively for the JLS and spoils us with champagne, hors devours, and personal service.
