Junior League of Seattle

2006 Recipient

We congratulate Marli Iverson, our 2006-2007 Dorothy Stimson Bullitt Award winner.

Marli is a Seattle native, she grew up in the area attending high school at Ballard and completing her degree at the University of Washington in Music Education in 1959.

Marli started her community involvement early on in her life and while she was passionate about music and education, she would come to be involved in many different aspects of the greater Seattle community. She joined the Junior League of Seattle in 1968 and held a number of leadership positions such as Provisional Chairman in 1976, Vice President in 1977 and President of the League in 1978. She also worked closely with Ginger Ackerley to obtain approval for JLS' first cookbook project and is the founder of the "Past President's Luncheon" which began in 1978.

Marli states that her time in the league has been invaluable to her work in the community. She is someone who has credited the league with much of her success and as a Sustainer for the past twenty years has remained incredibly involved.

Marli is a wonderful JLS member who has expressed her deep thanks for this award and is looking forward to her continued work in the community.
